When the message came through our website from Asha and Kevin who were searching for their Cardiff Asian Wedding Photographers to cover their Indian wedding ceremony, my eyes instantly lit up with excitement. We photograph so many beautiful Christian wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships that the chance of photographing another style of wedding was incredibly exciting. A few messages back and forth, and a meeting later and it was all set, we would have the honour of photographing their ceremony just a few weeks away!

The ceremony took place at the Paget Rooms in Penarth, Cardiff, which with the plan of using festoon lighting as the main light source posed it’s own technical challenge. We are no stranger to photographing in the dark or low light, so with a lighting plan in my head I just needed to make it work for 3 photographers, yes, THREE! With the possibility of 250+ guests we enlisted the help of another very talented local photographer to give us extra angles, coverage and the ability to give each other a little break throughout the day.

It’s absolutely outstanding just how much Asha and Kev had transformed the Paget Rooms, a theatre in the centre of Penarth, into a colourful and vibrantly decorated wedding ceremony venue, adorning the walls and balcony with beautiful scarfs and decorated Indian parasols. Outside, Kev had set up a street pizza stand which is one of his personal businesses, to later accompany the 3 other food vendors, supplying a variety of delicious food (yes we tried them too) to keep everyone comfortably fed with a freedom or mix of cuisine. Having street food style stalls for a wedding meal is an amazing idea, you can eat when and what you want with no formal sit down for dinner, so there’s plenty of time for socialising and of course dancing!

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end. It was a totally new experience for us, and we were lucky enough to have had the complete faith of Asha and Kev to capture their day in our own way.

If you are searching for Cardiff Wedding Photographers, we would love to hear from you. Drop us a line <here> .

Heres just a small selection of the pics, I hope you enjoy.
